R. DOUGLAS ELLIOT
R. Douglas Elliott is a partner in Cambridge LLP. He received his B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in 1979, his LL.B. from the University of Toronto in 1982, and was called to the Bar in 1984.
Doug Elliott grew up in Elliot Lake, in Northern Ontario, and is the son and grandson of career police officers. Doug has spent most of his legal career working in Toronto. He is a certified specialist in civil litigation, and a recognized expert on human rights, constitutional law, and class actions. Doug has consistently been recognized by Lexpert as an expert on public law, and by The Best Lawyers in Canada as one of the Best Class Action Lawyers in Canada. Doug was also the first openly gay lawyer to be awarded the Ontario legal profession’s highest honour, Law Society Medal.
DR. H. SCOTT FAIRLEY
Dr. H. Scott Fairley is a partner at Cambridge LLP. He received his B.A. in 1974, in addition to his LL.B in 1977, from Queens University. He has also received his LL.M in International Legal Studies from New York University in 1979, and his S.J.D. in international and constitutional law from Harvard University in 1987. He has been a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCI Arb) since 1999. Dr. Fairley was called to the bar in 1982. In 2015, he received the OBA Award of Excellence in International Law. He has written and published widely on public law and international litigation in Canada and abroad.
Dr. Fairley’s areas of practice include but are not limited to, commercial and public law issues, international commercial arbitration, and appellate advocacy. Dr. Fairley has represented numerous government and private entities at all levels of Canadian federal and provincial courts, with extensive experience in the Supreme Court of Canada. Dr. Fairley holds the highest rating by Martindale-Hubbell, an “AV” rating, which categorizes him a lawyer with, “very high to preeminent legal ability.”
Jon-David Giacomelli is a Partner in Cambridge LLP and Chair of the firm's Cross-Border Litigation Group. His practice encompasses a wide range of complex cross-border litigation and alternative dispute resolution, with an emphasis on private international law, enforcement of foreign orders, shareholders rights, creditors' rights, construction law and injunctive relief. Jon-David has also developed a special interest in international public-private initiatives, international trade and development initiatives and joint ventures.
Jon-David is a frequent writer on issues related to private international law and in particular, cross-border litigation, dispute resolution and conflict of laws. He has spoken and lectured widely in Canada, the United States and internationally with respect to these issues.
He is a graduate of McMaster University B.A. (summa cum Laude) and Queen's University LLB.
Chris MacLeod is a Partner in Cambridge LLP. His practice focuses on complex business litigation including cross-border dispute resolution, multi-jurisdictional litigation and private international law. Chris is a frequent speaker and writer on topics relevant to cross-border litigation, conflict of laws and private international law. He has appeared before all levels of Court in the Province of Ontario, including the Ontario Court of Appeal. He has also appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada as co-counsel for an intervenor in Canada (Prime Minister) v. Khadr, 2010 SCC 3,  1 S.C.R. 44.
Elena Mamay is a senior litigation associate at Cambridge LLP. Her practice focuses on complex national and international litigation as well as appellate advocacy. She obtained her Juris Doctor from Suffolk University in Boston, Massachusetts, and earned her post-graduate law degree from Georgetown University Law Center, where she focused her studies on international arbitration and international security law.
Prior to joining Cambridge LLP, Elena worked as an international legal advisor at the War Crimes Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. She participated in a number of high-profile cases and advised judges in connection with the prosecution of high-ranking military (and paramilitary) commanders and political leaders for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide committed during the 1992-1995 war; as well as constitutional and jurisdictional challenges pertaining to the right of an Accused to a fair trial and a right to be free from torture and inhuman treatment under the European Convention on Human Rights.
Sana Ebrahimi is an associate at Cambridge LLP. Sana’s practice encompasses a broad range of civil litigation, including class actions, commercial litigation, and human rights matters. Sana articled at Cambridge LLP. Prior to joining Cambridge LLP, Sana completed internships at the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, in Washington. Sana has an extensive background and interest in research and Psychology. Sana obtained her B.Sc., specializing in Psychology, from the University of Toronto, and her J.D from the University of Ottawa. She currently serves as one of the managing editors of Health Law in Canada.

Colleen Yamashita is a partner at Scarfone Hawkins LLP. Her practice focuses on commercial litigation matters and all aspects of banking, insolvency, receivership and bankruptcy litigation. She has successfully argued several summary judgment and injunction motions, and resolved or adjudicated numerous banking actions. She has appeared in a variety of legal matters in the Superior Court of Justice, the Bankruptcy Court, the Commercial List, the Divisional Court and various administrative tribunals. Colleen obtained her B.A. (Hons) from McMaster University in 2001 and her J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2004. She was called to the Bar of Ontario in 2005.

Matt Moloci is a partner at Scarfone Hawkins LLP. Matt’s practice includes class action, commercial, employment, construction, product liability and professional negligence litigation. Matt obtained his law degree from Dalhousie University in 1996 and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1998. He has participated as counsel in more than a dozen class actions from commencement, through certification, mediation and resolution. As a result of his work, he has been recognized by the court as an experienced class action lawyer performing with a high level of skill and diligence.

David Thompson is a partner at Scarfone Hawkins LLP. He received his Bachelor of Arts (Summa Cum Laude) from McMaster University in 1983 and his Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1986. David was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1988. David practices complex commercial litigation with a strong emphasis on plaintiff class action litigation. He has written and lectured widely on all aspects of litigation and is a regular speaker and writer on a wide variety of litigation subjects, including class action claims.
